Leading Maryland IT Service Provider ANALYSYS Delivers SonicWALL Solution
Posted: Fri Dec 18, 2009 02:15:00 PM

SonicWALL, Inc. (, a leading secure network infrastructure company, today announced that ANALYSYS, a leading Maryland provider of managed IT services, has deployed SonicWALL Continuous Data Protection (CDP) solutions to 50 businesses in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. areas.

"We have 80 percent of our SonicWALL CDP clients backing up to our co-location facility, 10 percent to a secondary client facility and another 10 percent for local backup only," said Stephen Kolbe, President at ANALYSYS. "It's all fully automated, and we do test restorations on a monthly basis."

SonicWALL CDP enables ANALYSYS to offer the only complete end-to-end backup and recovery solution for their SMB customers. CDP features automatic transparent backup, user-directed restore, flexible disaster recovery options and low-touch administration.

"SonicWALL CDP offered us a one-stop solution-in-a-box that we have been able to incorporate into our network-in-a-box cloud based solutions. Our clients have enjoyed the benefits and stability offered by this new infrastructure designed to keep their businesses up and running in the event of any disaster," said Kolbe.

ANALYSYS offers CDP as either a fully managed service at their own operations center or as a site-to-site storage service from client-owned devices.

"SonicWALL CDP gives our customers a choice," said Kolbe. "On one hand, they can benefit from absolutely zero upfront acquisition cost or, on the other hand, they can buy and manage their own appliance, and leverage our co-location rack space for site-to-site."

Both service models have contributed to the company's bottom line. For the fully managed service, ANALYSYS charges customers on a per-gigabyte-per-month basis.

"In six months, we ramped up revenues from zero to $80,000 a year on a net acquisition cost of $20,000," said Kolbe. "It's been incredibly profitable."

The site-to-site storage service adds the advantage of relieving ANALYSYS from acquiring, deploying and managing the device, while still generating recurring revenues.

"It's really an easy sale, because many customers need the offsite backup, but they don't have access to a co-location site," said Kolbe.

ANALYSYS leverages SonicWALL's competitive price point to make offerings extremely competitive, especially when combined with other SonicWALL services, such as firewall or e-mail security, and managed together using the SonicWALL Global Management System (GMS).

"Plus, SonicWALL gives us a level of support we just don't see from other vendors," said Kolbe.

SonicWALL CDP has enabled ANALYSYS to start taking on the backup and recovery needs of larger customers.

"We plan to use SonicWALL CDP as part of our co-location solution for the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland," said Kolbe. "It will be all automatic, with no user intervention required for backup."
